Audition Suggestions
Drama
This is a very important part of the audition process. We would like you to learn a short speech lasting no more than one minute. Below are some suggested monologues, but we would prefer that you select your own audition piece.
On the day you will also be given a duologue script to read through and then perform with another student. Students with learning or reading difficulties may contact me in advance to receive a copy of the script.
Dance or Singing (Optional)
During your session you will have the option of singing an unaccompanied song or performing a short dance routine although neither of these is required if you do not wish it. Again, please prepare your piece for whichever discipline you choose to do to last about a minute. If you are dancing please bring a CD of your music with the track required clearly marked. We also have a multiplayer ipod docking system.
Suggested Audition Pieces
For children aged 4 - 6: Choose a favourite nursery rhyme or a short poem. Suggested poets for this age group are Roger McGough or Roald Dahl.
For other age groups we have selected a choice of two audition pieces suitable for boys and girls in each age group. To download these simply click on the appropriate age group.
